When using your proxies locally or externally, identifying your router's IP address is essential to do port forwarding, checking access rules, or reserving your server's IP address.

This article guides you to identify your router's IP address whether you have a Windows or Mac OS machines.

  1. Windows PC

    This can be done by opening a command prompt on your Windows PC.

    Once the prompt is opened, type the command ipconfig /all to identify your IP address and the default gateway

    The IP address of your default gateway is your router's address. It can be accessed by entering its address in the URL bar from your device or any other device within the same network.


  2. Mac OS

    If you are using a PC with MacOS installed, then you’ll need to go through System Preferences. Click Network, choose the network connection you’re using, then click Advanced. Click the TCP/IP tab and locate the IP address next to Router:
