Step-by-Step Guide to Remote Support Session

This document provides detailed instructions on generating a remote support session using two different methods. This session allows for SSH access to troubleshoot and manage the server remotely.

Method 1: Dashboard Access

  1. Access Dashboard

    • Navigate to the dashboard.

    • Proceed to the "Settings" tab.

  2. Server Section

    Scroll down to locate the "Server" section.

  3. Remote Support Session

    • Look for the "Remote Support Session" option.

    • Click on "Generate".

  4. View Session Info

    • Once the session has been generated, the "Generate" button will change to "View".

    • Click "View" to access session information.

  5. Session Information

    Ensure to keep this information confidential. The information provided will look similar to this:

  6. Sharing This Information

    This information should be shared with the Proxidize team when it is requested.

Method 2: Linux Terminal

  1. Linux Terminal

    Access the Linux terminal on the server.

  2. Remote-Support Command

    Type the command: remote-support

  3. Session Information

    If Proxidize is installed correctly, you will receive:

    • IP: [Server IP Address]

    • Port: [Port Number]

    • Password: [Generated Password]

    And it should look like this:

    This information should be shared with the Proxidize team when asked for.

​Session Expiration and Renewal

Session Expiration

Each remote support session comes with an expiration date. The session information includes the expiry date, ensuring security and limiting access beyond a specified timeframe.

Expired Sessions

If a session has expired, the session information will still be visible, but attempts to access it will be unsuccessful. Ensure to check the expiration date before attempting to use the provided information.

Renewing a Session

To renew a session and generate new access credentials:

  • Click on "View" for the current session.

  • Delete the current session.

  • Return to the "Remote Support" option.

  • Click on "Generate" to obtain new session information.
