USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) is a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) protocol for sending text messages. USSD uses codes made up of characters (up to 182 characters) available on a mobile phone.

USSD is similar to Short Message Service (SMS). Still, USSDs are messages that require the user's intervention and interaction, who must know the codes to use to get a specific response/service.

If the user is unaware of the USSD code to send for a specific service, they should refer to their mobile carrier or search the web for the desired USSD.

This feature is experimental but supported on Proxidize modems in terms of sending/receiving USSD requests/responses, but It will not work in all countries.

Users can test sending USSD codes from the Proxidize dashboard by expanding the row of the modem they want to send USSD from > Modem Actions > and Choosing USSD.

Once chosen, the user will be given a text box to enter the USSD code for submission:

Once the user enters the USSD and hits send, they should receive a response for the code submitted. If you face any issues with sending USSD codes, please contact our support team via the live chat on the website https://proxidize.com.
