Internally connecting to a proxy entails doing so within your server's network, thus utilizing the private IP on the Proxidize dashboard. On the other hand, externally connecting to a proxy involves doing so from a network different from the server's. As a result, you would be using the public IP on the Proxidize dashboard. Here's how you can connect to the proxy internally:

  1. Start by opening your Proxidize dashboard.

  2. Notice how the button next to "Show Public IP" is currently toggled off; this indicates that you are using the private IP of the proxies, which is highlighted in the screen below.

  3. After clicking on the plus sign next to the proxy you want to be using, the window should expand, indicating that you should be able to click on the button "copy proxy," which copies the private IP of the proxy, the port you're going to be accessing it over, and the username and password for it, after clicking on "copy proxy" a pop up is going to appear on the top right of your screen indicating that the proxy has been copied to your clipboard.

  4. Open up Mozilla Firefox or any web extension you use to access the proxies; in this instance, we will be using the default web extension in Mozilla Firefox to use the proxy and another web extension you can download called FoxyProxy.
You can head to the settings tab in Mozilla Firefox, where you can type in proxy in the search bar to find the proxy extension.

  5. Click on the settings button in the image above, where this screen should appear.

  6. After toggling on the radio button for "Manual Proxy Configuration," you should be able to insert the information regarding the proxy that you have copied to your clipboard.

However, if you're going to be accessing the proxies externally, you should start by forwarding the ports of the proxies you're going to be accessing using these articles:

  1. Toggle on the button "Show Public IP" shown in the picture below. After toggling it on, you should receive a pop-up indicating that you have successfully changed IP settings to show public IP.

  2. Follow the same steps for the private IP. The only difference is that you will use the public IP this time, not the private one.
